The Aberdeen School District’s need to cut $3.5 million in spending next year could see more layoffs coming soon. Earlier This month the district notified 21 certified employees their contracts would not be renewed for the next school year. Although the certified positions had to be notified of the layoffs by today, cutbacks to non-certified or classified positions could still be coming. Superintendent Jeffrey Thake told The Daily World that administrators are finalizing which other positions will be impacted for next school year and will let those people know as soon as possible.
