The Oaksridge Golf Course in Elma will not be closing at the end of this week after all. The Chehalis Tribe has announced the course will be open for the 2023 golf season. A release this week from tribe officials said in part. “After careful consideration and discussions, it has been decided not to close the course at this time and to remain open”. The golf course was purchased in 2019 and the tribe says its been operating at a loss every year since then. The earlier decision to close the course on April 16th was made following the resignation of the course director. The new plan for Oaksridge is to operate the golf course this year and in the coming months look at other options to keep the course open beyond 2023.
