Parks in Grays Harbor and Pacific Counties Getting Repairs/Upgrades

The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office announced $4.7 million for 53 projects through its Local Parks Maintenance grant program.

Parks in 25 Washington counties including Grays Harbor and Pacific counties will get much-needed upgrades and repairs –thanks to one-time funding grants to be used for backlogged parks maintenance projects and needed equipment. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office announced $4.7 million for 53 projects through its Local Parks Maintenance grant program. The City of Aberdeen will use $100,000 to replace aging park structures in several parks. The City of Long Beach will use $67,000 to repair restrooms on Fifth Street and the City of South Bend will use $100,000 to install a thick layer of asphalt over an unusable sports court at Cheney Ballfield. The Legislature created the grant program this past year to address maintenance backlogs in local parks.
