APD responds to accident on E. Wishkah.
According to Lieutenant David Cox, on November 23, 2024, officers from the Aberdeen Police Department were dispatched to a vehicle-versus-pedestrian collision in the 300 block of E. Wishkah Street. The driver of the vehicle, a 27-year-old Hoquiam resident, was traveling westbound on E. Wishkah Street. The pedestrian, a 42-year-old Aberdeen resident, was in the mid-block area on the north side of the street when she stepped into the roadway and was struck by the vehicle. The pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to Harbor Regional Hospital by the Aberdeen Fire Department. Members of the Aberdeen Police Collision Investigation and FARO Team mapped the scene, and a drone was used for aerial photography. Wishkah Street was closed for approximately four hours while the initial investigation was completed. The investigation is ongoing; however, the driver was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs. We would like to thank the Aberdeen Public Works Department for responding and closing the roadway so our officers could safely investigate the collision.
