The Chehalis Basin Fisheries Task Force will get a portion of over $81 million in grant funds from the Washington State Salmon Recovery Funding Board that will focus on improving salmon habitats.

The Chehalis Basin Fisheries Task Force will get a portion of over $81 million in grant funds from the Washington State Salmon Recovery Funding Board that will focus on improving salmon habitats. Grays Harbor will receive $237,000 to help correct a culvert preventing fish passage at the mouth of Damon Creek under Kirkpatrick Road, near the lower Humptulips River. The Cowlitz Indian Tribe will use $547,000 in grant funds to build logjams in 1.3 miles of the lower East Fork Grays River, reconnecting floodplains and improving habitat for salmon and steelhead.
