NWS Issues Winter Storm Warning for Willapa Hills Above 500 Feet

The warning is in effect from 10:00 p.m. today, January 31, 2025, until 10:00 p.m. tomorrow. Snow levels will start around 3000-4000 ft on Saturday morning.

According to PCEMA Director Scott McDougall, the National Weather Service Office in Portland, Oregon has issued a Winter Storm Warning for the Willapa Hills of Pacific County, above 500 feet. The warning is in effect from 10:00 p.m. today, January 31, 2025, until 10:00 p.m. tomorrow. Snow levels will start around 3000-4000 ft on Saturday morning, before lowering towards 500-1000 ft by late Saturday morning.

Consider postponing travel until weather conditions improve. If you must travel, be sure to slow down and allow extra time. If your car becomes trapped in deep snow, be sure to keep your car off to stay safe from potential carbon monoxide poisoning. If you are using a generator, be sure to keep it outdoors and away from windows and vents. Be aware that walking surfaces may be slick. Walk with extra care. Backcountry recreation is not advised.
