Pacific County Sheriff’s Office Re-establishes Search & Rescue

The Pacific County Sheriff’s Office has re-established its Search and Rescue team, marking a major step toward improving emergency response in the area.

The Pacific County Sheriff’s Office has re-established its Search and Rescue team, marking a major step toward improving emergency response in the area. After the county’s SAR team disbanded over a decade ago, volunteers have spent the past year training in search techniques and technical rescues to prepare for real-world emergencies. In April of last year, the team held its first technical training and just recently completed an advanced mountain operations course, thanks to support from the Mason County Sheriff’s Office. Officials say the newly formed Pacific County Special Operations Rescue Team will be crucial in responding quickly to missing person cases and rescue missions, ensuring that no time is wasted when lives are on the line.
