28 Tribes in Washington To Get Money From Climate Commitment Act

Governor Jay Inslee announced 52-million-dollars will go to tribal climate projects.

Twenty-eight federally recognized Tribes in Washington state will receive money from the Climate Commitment Act. Governor Jay Inslee announced 52-million-dollars will go to tribal climate projects. The Quinault Indian Nation will receive 13-million-dollars to move two villages to higher ground. One of the villages is below sea level and is at risk of high tides and storm surges. The Climate Commitment Act is funded by fees that are imposed on fossil fuel burning businesses.
