The first call came in at 5:30pm and fire crews were first on the scene within minutes.
All 77 patients were safely evacuated from the Montesano Health and Rehab facility on Wednesday
evening after a fire broke out. The first call came in at 5:30pm and fire crews were first on the scene
within minutes. Due to the size of the fire and the number of possible victims, additional fire
companies and EMS units were called in to assist. The fire was under control in just under three hours.
There were no reports of any injuries to residents, staff or first responders. A Disaster Medical
Coordination Center was called in to assist residents find new facilities and all of their families were
notified. The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
