Students are being reminded to dress for the weather because the drill will happen, rain or shine.
The Great American Shakeout is set for this Thursday and Hoquiam schools will be taking part. In a letter sent home to parents, the district says that Thursday at 10:17am students and staff will take part in an earthquake drill. All Hoquiam buildings and schools will participate and will evacuate outside to help simulate an actual disaster. Students are being reminded to dress for the weather because the drill will happen, rain or shine. More schools and other organizations could announce plans to take part in the nationwide preparedness event
