The Mason County Sheriff’s office is still investigating after a homemade improvised explosive device was found in the Star Lake Community. Patrol units responded after someone called in a suspicious device. Local residents told responding deputies three other explosives were set off in residential neighborhood within the previous 12 hours. Washington State Patrol Bomb Squad responded, investigated the device and conducted a controlled detonation to render the IED safe. The investigation determined the suspect was setting off the devices from their vehicle as they drove through the community. So far, no arrests have been announced.
