The Hoquiam Police Department has announced its interim chief of police. Deputy Chief Joe Strong will now serve as the interim head of the department after the retirement of Chief Jeff Myers. Strong has been with the department for 27 years, in which time he’s served as a patrol officer, both a general detective and the detective sergeant with the Drug Task Force. Strong has announced the department will be adding an administrative position to help with the increasing workload and new programs within the department.
