An Aberdeen man is out $12,000 after cops say he fell for a phone scam last week. Reports say the man received a call from a blocked number telling him he had a warrant out for his arrest for missing jury duty and that if he paid a $12,000 fine immediately he could avoid going to jail. Police say the man only reported it after he transferred the money to the scammer in bitcoin. Police remind everyone they will never ask for money over the phone and they will never call to warn you before arresting you.
