The Grays Harbor Sheriff’s Department says there are still openings available for the South Beach Citizens Academy that starts next week. Those who attend the 12-week course will learn various aspects of policing, including specialized units with a department, how police prepare and respond to certain situations and how officers interact with the courts. There will be hands on demonstrations covering different aspects of policing. The class will meet once per week on Tuesday’s from 6:30-9:30pm at a location to be determined in Westport. Applications and more info can be found by contacting the Grays Harbor Sheriff’s department or Westport police. The course starts Tuesday June 7th.
