The FAA will be investigating the cause of an airplane crash this weekend in Ocean Shores. Before dawn on Saturday and fixed wing, single engine aircraft was found by arriving crews in a marshy area between the Ocean Shores Municipal Airport and North Bay, approximately 100 yards from the pavement. The crash site could not be gotten to by vehicle, so first responders had to make their way to the victims on foot. Both people on boards had to be extricated from the plane and were taken to the hospital. Their conditions are unknown. OSFD Assistant Chief Mike Mandella called it one of the most impressive displays of teamwork in his over 40 years on the job.
