The razor clam season on area beaches is postponed effective immediately and until further notice. This includes the scheduled digs from Nov. 6 through Nov. 13. The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife announced Thursday that test results on razor clams indicate domoic acid levels are trending upward. Most beaches have exceeded the health guidelines for safe consumption set by the state. Recent rains are said to the reason behind the high toxin levels. Fish and Wildlife staff will continue to regularly test samples of razor clams to monitor the situation. WDFW's domoic acid webpage.
