This is the third wildfire in the area.
It was an unattended campfire that started the most recent wildfire that’s located just off the Siouxon [
SOO-sawn ] trail in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest. This is the third wildfire in the area. Today’
forecast calls for cooler weather with the chance of rain, and officials are hopeful that combination will
help to slow the spread of all three fires burning in the forest. Combined, the Goats Rock Fire, Kalama
Fire and now the Sioxon Fire have scorched about 5,000 acres so far.
