WDOT Replacing Parts On Wishkah Bridge

The Washington Department of Transportation says plans are in the early stages.

The Washington Department of Transportation says plans are in the early stages to replace worn out parts of the Wishkah River Bridge.  The state says rehabbing the bridge will be more cost effective that replacing the bridge.  Once the work starts the bridge will need to be in the down position for long periods of time, preventing large boats from passing.  At the same time, weeks long closures of the bridge will be needed with drivers using State Route 107 and US 101 as detours.  For those reasons WASH DOT is planning this project so far in advance.  Bids for the work won’t go out until the Spring of next year and actual work is not expected to start until the summer of 2024 and is expected to last until the fall of 2025.
