One of the first places I came to when I arrived in Washington was Kurt Cobain park because I've always been a huge fan and then the next place I went to was Billy's Bar because of its story and creepy past.
My curiosity peaked when I saw it featured on Food Network's Most Haunted list where they went through the most haunted restaurant in every state and when they got to Washington, it was Billy's.
Built in 1904, the Crowther-Wooding Building is one of oldest buildings in Aberdeen. It was home to the Red Cross, then a drug store, before turning into a series of taverns.
However, since 1980 it's been home to Billy's Bar and Grill. The name is taken from serial killer Billy Gohl and the building's seedy reputation as a brothel back in the 40's and 50's.
I didn't know this at the time but I'll have to look for it the next time I go in there but apparently you can still see a bullet hole that allegedly came from an angry madame who shot her pimp.
While there has been reports of paranormal activity over the years of children running up and down the stairs, music mysteriously coming on out of nowhere and random cigarette smoke appearing, something that isn't so creepy is the food.
I got a big juicy chili burger and it was outstanding along with a salad which was huge and delicious as well.
Billy's is known for a lot of things but these days, they are known for following their 7 house rules that I can personally attest to, they followed to a T and I'll certainly be back to try some other yummy sounding things on the menu.
