Double Fatality Wreck On 101 In Mason County May Have Involved Impaired Driving

The double fatality wreck on 101 in Mason County this week may have involved a driver under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

The double fatality wreck on 101 in Mason County this week may have involved a driver under the influence of drugs or alcohol.  Troopers say a car crossed the center line on 101 near Shelton Wednesday morning around 7:30am and hit a gravel truck going in the opposite direction.  The truck then spun around and fell on top of an SUV.  The Driver of the gravel truck, Duane Wharton and the driver of the SUV, Rita Lyman both died in the crash.  State Patrol had the highway closed down for 6 hours Wednesday.  Charges are pending against the driver who crossed the over the divider line.
