Nakia Creek Fire Now At 1,900 Acres And 64 Percent Contained

DNR officials say the recent cooler weather, mixed with recent rains have helped bring the fire largely under control.

The Nakia Creek fire is now at 1,900 acres and as of the latest update Monday was 64 percent contained.  DNR officials say the recent cooler weather, mixed with recent rains have helped bring the fire largely under control.  Although all evacuation orders have been lifted for the fire, for public safety there are still some road closures due to the wildfire.  Authorities have determined the fire was man made and are looking for a light-colored Subaru in connection with the persons who may be responsible for starting the fire.
