Officials May Have Pinpointed Nakia Creek Fire

The wildfire that’s now over 1,800 acres may have been ignited by some type of pyrotechnic such as an incendiary rifle round or fireworks.

Officials believe they may have pinpointed what started the Nakia Creek Fire that’s been burning near
Larch Mountain for 11 days now. The wildfire that’s now over 1,800 acres may have been ignited by
some type of pyrotechnic such as an incendiary rifle round or fireworks. Investigators are now trying to
find a group of people that were seen with a light-colored Subaru near the sight of where the fire
started. Meanwhile officials say the weather helped with containment of the fire yesterday and they
are working crews in night and day shifts to minimize the wildfire’s footprint.
