Washington Sea Grant is sponsoring a one-day Sea Safety and Survival Course for commercial fishermen
and charter boat operators. Coursework combines lecture and hands-on experience with the safety and
survival equipment now required for commercial fishing vessels. Participants will learn about emergency
procedures and be trained to develop appropriate emergency drills for their own vessels. The course
will be Friday October 14 th at the Westport Maritime Museum and will cost $100. Those who
commercially fish may take the course for $50 due to program support from the Seattle Fishermen’s
Memorial.
