Pacific County Health Officials COVID Risk Gauge

To help people know when wearing a mask is recommended but not required.

Since mask mandates have been lifted in most places across Washington, Pacific County health officials have come up with a COVID risk gauge to help people know when wearing a mask is recommended but not required.  The gauge is based on number of COVID cases per 100,000 people and is color coded red, yellow and green. When there are more than 100 cases per 100,000 people the gauge would be in the red and recommend people mask up while in an indoor public setting.  Yellow is when cases fall below 100 per 100,000 and it is safe for most people to go without a mask.  Green is below 50 cases per 100,000 and suggests anyone with a high risk of infection wear a mask.  Currently Pacific County is in yellow, meaning cases of COVID are below 100 per 100,000 people.
