The Quinault Indian Nation and Shoalwater Bay Indian Tribe were among 17 Indian tribes in Western
Washington to receive a portion of over $15 million in federal funds to support local community safety
programs. The D-O-J says the money is intended to boost things like sex offender registration and court
appointed drug programs. The Quinault Indian Nation will also get over $600,000 to increase its ability
to share data with national crime databases that are used to help solve crimes.
