Young Street Bridge Options Presented

Nine options for what to do with the North Aberdeen bridge were presented to community members this week.

Nine options for what to do with the North Aberdeen bridge were presented to community members this week at an open house put on by the city. Also known as the Young Street Bridge, the structure has significant cultural and historical significance to the city after being referenced in songs by Nirvana and Aberdeen native Kurt Cobain. The 68-year-old structure needs either major repair work, or a new bridge built to replace it. Dozens of community members gave their thoughts on the options at Tuesday’s meeting. The city would like to narrow the nine choices down to just two or three by next month and then make a final decision by June. A link to a survey about the bridge project and information from the open house can be found through the link on our website. https://naberdeenbridge.participate.online/
