A Crash In Hoquiam Caused Major Traffic Delays

The wreck at Simpson Avenue and 8th Street Thursday caused extensive damage to the traffic signals.

A crash yesterday in Hoquiam caused major traffic delays.  The wreck at Simpson Avenue and 8th Street Thursday caused extensive damage to the traffic signals. According to the police department, the power boxes to streetlights were severely damaged and the lights will be out for an undetermined amount of time.  Look for temporary stop signs at that intersection and use caution.  No word as to what caused the crash. Police say the driver did not seem impaired and witnesses say he did not seem to be speeding.  **Hoquiam and Aberdeen firefighters responded to a commercial structure fire in the 1300 block of 5th extension in Hoquiam on Thursday.   The call came in around 7:30 in the morning and crews quickly got to work to put out the fire. No reports of any injuries at last check and a cause of the fire has not been announced.  **
