Grays Harbor County To Pay Over $1 Million In Suicide Death Lawsuit

Grays Harbor County will pay over $1 million to settle a wrongful death lawsuit after a jail inmate committed suicide in 2021.

Grays Harbor County will pay over $1 million to settle a wrongful death lawsuit after a jail inmate committed suicide in 2021. The Daily World reports that recent court filings show the county has settled with the mother of 33-year-old Andrew Clark, who was found hanging in his cell in February of that year. The mother’s suit claimed negligence and civil rights violations leading up to her son’s death. The county settled last month and will pay $1.35 million to Silvia Clark but will admit to no wrongdoing in her son’s death.
