City officials say Lake Aberdeen will be closed starting this coming Monday for cleaning work. The lake and park will both be closed so crews can bring in equipment. The lake will be drained by several feet and crews will then clear vegetation on sections of the spillway channel walls that hinder inspection and that could cause damage in the future. Per the state Department of Ecology, all the work must be complete soon, so the city says to plan for the lake and park to be closed until September 15th.
