Elma Police: Don't Leave Your Dog In A Hot Car

Elma police are reminding you that cars can be deathtraps for dogs and have tips on what you should do if you see a dog trapped in hot car.

Elma police are reminding you that cars can be deathtraps for dogs and have tips on what you should do if you see a dog trapped in hot car. They say to check to see if the windows are down and the dog has access to water. If the car is parked at a business or facility, notify the business management or staff. Ask them to make a public announcement to find the car's owner. If the car is in a public parking area, and you cannot find anyone to assist you, please remember to contact local police and make note of the car's make, model, and license plate number. If you are able to, stay with the dog until help arrives.
