5 fire trucks and 19 fire fighters responded to an apartment fire in Aberdeen late Tuesday. The call came in for the fire on Arnold Street just after 11:30pm Tuesday. Crews were notified that no one was inside the second story apartment, but firefighters were able to save a cat that was still inside. A 2nd alarm was called for the blaze which, in addition to Aberdeen and Hoquiam fire department already on scene, activated Grays Harbor Fire District 2 to help fight the fire. Crews were able to contain the fire to one unit and they cleared the scene just before 2am and are now looking into the cause.
