Weyerhaeuser Workers Strike Is Over

The deal affects 1,200 union workers at several company plants across Oregon and Washington.

A union strike of Weyerhaeuser workers in Aberdeen has come to an end.  It was reported that last Thursday 55 percent of International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Woodworkers members voted to approve a new 4-year contract with the company.  The contract is said to give all workers a 14 percent pay increase, no increase in healthcare premiums and better vacation and sick time payout.  The new contract that ended a 46-day strike will also include a $750 per employee payment per year to an individual health savings account.  The deal affects 1,200 union workers at several company plants across Oregon and Washington.
